Privacy Policy
Effective October 20, 2026. This policy explains what Cupcakes Holdings LTD ("we", "us") collects when you use https://historyallday.com ("the Site"), why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
1. Who we are
The Site is operated by Cupcakes Holdings LTD, a company registered in Israel, which is the data controller for personal data collected through the Site. Contact: [email protected].
2. The short version
You can read everything on this Site without creating an account or giving us your name. We do not sell your personal information for money. The data that is collected comes mostly from the technology that keeps the Site running and, where present, from advertising and analytics partners who use cookies and similar technologies. You can limit that tracking with the controls described in section 8.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us. If you email us, we receive your email address, name (if you include it) and the contents of your message. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle it and for our records.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our hosting and content-delivery provider (Cloudflare) processes standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, and timestamps. This is used for security, performance, abuse prevention and aggregate traffic statistics.
Cookies and similar technologies. The Site itself sets only strictly necessary cookies. If analytics or advertising is enabled on the Site, those partners may set their own cookies, pixels, local storage and device identifiers to measure traffic, show and measure ads, and limit how often you see an ad. See our Cookie Policy for the current list and controls.
Information we do not collect. We do not collect payment details, government identifiers, precise geolocation or sensitive categories of data, and we do not knowingly collect any personal data from children under 16.
4. How we use information
We use the information above to deliver and secure the Site; to understand which stories readers find useful, in aggregate; to show advertising that funds the Site, which may be personalised where you have consented or not opted out, depending on where you live; to respond to your messages and requests; to comply with law and enforce our terms; and to detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse and security incidents.
5. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interests (running, securing and improving a free publication; non-personalised advertising and aggregate measurement), your consent (analytics, personalised advertising and any non-essential cookies, which you can withdraw at any time through the cookie controls), legal obligations, and performance of a contract where you contact us about a service.
6. Who we share information with
We share data only with service providers acting on our behalf (hosting and CDN, object storage, email, analytics), with advertising partners where advertising is enabled (who act as independent controllers for their own processing under their own policies), with professional advisers, and with authorities where the law requires. If the Site or our company is sold or merged, personal data may transfer to the successor under this policy. We do not sell personal information for money. Where advertising partners' use of cookies would count as a "sale" or "sharing" for targeted advertising under US state privacy laws, you can opt out as described in section 8.
7. International transfers
We are based in Israel, which the European Commission and the UK recognise as providing adequate data protection. Our providers may process data in the United States, the EU and elsewhere; where required we rely on adequacy decisions, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
8. Your choices
Cookie controls. Where a consent banner is shown you can accept, reject or customise non-essential cookies, and change your choice later via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the Site will still work.
Global Privacy Control. We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signals as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising where the law gives that signal effect.
Advertising opt-outs. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies at optout.aboutads.info, youronlinechoices.eu and optout.networkadvertising.org, and through your device's advertising settings.
Do Not Track. There is no industry standard for "Do Not Track" signals, so we do not respond to them separately; GPC signals are honoured as described above.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, receive a copy, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its processing, withdraw consent, opt out of targeted advertising and of the sale or sharing of personal information, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Iowa, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Tennessee, Minnesota, Maryland, Indiana, Kentucky, Rhode Island and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws, residents of the EEA, UK, Switzerland, Israel, Brazil, Canada and Australia, and residents of other jurisdictions with similar laws may exercise these rights under those laws.
To exercise a right, email [email protected] with the subject "Privacy request". We will verify the request (usually by replying to the email address on file) and respond within the time the applicable law requires, generally 30 days (45 days under US state laws), extendable where permitted. You may use an authorised agent where the law allows. If we deny a request you may appeal by replying to our response. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority; in the EEA you can find yours at edpb.europa.eu, in the UK it is the ICO, and in Israel it is the Privacy Protection Authority.
10. Retention
Server and security logs are retained by our hosting provider for a short rolling period (typically up to 30 days unless needed for a security investigation). Email correspondence is kept for up to three years after the matter is closed, or longer where a legal claim or obligation requires. Aggregate statistics that do not identify you may be kept indefinitely.
11. Security
The Site is served over HTTPS and hosted on infrastructure with industry-standard protections. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your personal data we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
12. Children
The Site is a general-audience publication and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 (or under 13 in the United States under COPPA). If you believe a child has given us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
13. Third-party links
Stories may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
14. Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows the latest version; material changes will be flagged on the Site. Your continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
